Default Injured arm

Hurt my arm this morning........patting myself excessively on the back when I found I finally had a submission selected for Photo of the Day (11/21) on this site.

Even better, I was stuck in the back seat of the car (had to keep foot elevated due to recent foot surgery. Wife drove past the hawk and after spotting it, stopped and I got the shot out the window by twisting around, as we were now past the bird several yards. Being he was a juvenile must have made it less skittish. An adult would have been long gone.

Here's another shot I got, documenting our location.

A well-deserved pick, the POD hawk. Congrats for that! Interestingly, that make the second day that a shot taken with a Pentax made the POD at Steve's.

Hope your "injured" arm and the foot surgery victim improve quickly.

Great shot...I got a kick out of the hawk perched on the game refuge sign. Congrats on POTD and wonderful story on how you got that photo.

Thanks lesmore49. Another photographer a few years ago got a shot of a split tail flycatcher sitting on a refuge sign. Normally their northern most range is Kansas, so that guy was way out of his territory. Now, that was doumantation! Also, thanks to Mtngrl and Frogfish for your comments.

Hi BobIr,

If it takes a little surgery to produce your POD shot and this one, I guess I'll have to have a talk with my Drs soon. . .

Some outstanding captures!!!

BobIR that is one fine shot. Congrats on the POD. These Immature Hawks seem to love the attention they get from the the bird watching public.

The bird on the sign is like the one I took of a Snowy Owl this Spring.
