Default Pentax K-30?

I just pulled the trigger on a K-30 as it seemed to be a good price?
black body only, $579 at the red "bullseye" store plus 5% off using their credit
card - $550 and free shipping.
I haven't purchased a body since the K20D.
I'm hoping for better AF performance, less high ISO noise, and decent HD video.

You'll be amazed at what this camera can do, Jim. High ISO performance is astonishing. Can't answer to the video as I don't use it. Nor, can I compare the AF to the K20D as I don't/didn't have one. However, from what I've read on various Pentax-related forums, it's HIGHLY improved.

Congratulations on the new equipment! Will look forward to seeing some of your photos with the new camera. Gary has certainly shown us some amazing ones with his K30.

I'll be interested in hearing what you think of the K-30, especially the AF difference. I didn't notice a huge difference between the K20 and the K5, but then AF isn't high on my list of priorities (most of my subjects are stationary). Unless you are talking about the focus peaking option when using the LCD? I think that would be really good since my macro lens is manual focus.

You should be amazed at the high ISO difference. I can't believe the difference between the K7 and the K5, and I think the K30 is very similar to the K5. Can't address the video, don't use it.
