Default Monterey Bay Aquarium

My and son and me took our yearly trip to Santa Cruz and we never miss the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The Leafy Sea Dragon is obvious. Its adaption is amazing. The jelly fish are beautiful. A diver was working in the main tank. If you are in the area, the aquarium is not to be missed. Kx, Vivitar f2.8 24mm manual.

Some really fine photos of some amazing life, under very difficult lighting conditions. Well done!

Photos 2, 3, and 4 are really outstanding. I like the use of color and the contrast levels.

Great job on the jellyfish, like the colors, nice job with no reflections

Great photos. The sea dragon had me fooled! The first quick glance I didn't even think it was an animal! lol

Any tips on avoiding reflections?

On reflections, I keep shooting from different angles until I get a clean shot. Also, wait until there is no one behind you. For some of the tanks, it's just impossible because of the lighting.

Wonderful shots! I love visiting this aquarium, I think the jelly fish are a bit easier to shoot here than at Birch Aquarium. The diver is excellent.

Another way to try to avoid reflections is to have the camera lens or hood almost touching the glass. Only problem with that is that you need a close-focusing lens.

Thanks for bringing us along to such an interesting place. I have never heard of, much less seen, a leafy sea dragon. I never imagined such a creature existed.
