Default Finnish Midnight Sun 2013

Hi all! Here is a better version of the midsummer's sunset over Lake Palokka. I just wasn't satisfied with the previous shot... This one has better colours and certainly better detail. I shot this with my K7 with a 35 mm lens. Thanks for looking and you are having a terrific summer! Ned

Lovely! What a beautiful scene for midnight - I can't imagine living where it doesn't get dark at night.

Very nice Ned, I like the colors and the reflections on the boat. Nicely done

Thank you Mole, Harriet, Hans and Paul for your kind comments. Just so glad you liked this shot. It was perfect weather here in Finland for taking photos of the midnight sun. By the way, I have received some suggestions about the foreground being perhaps a little too dark... so here is a link to another version if care to look. Sorry for being such a perfectionist.

I like both versions very much, but I think I prefer the original version. It sure looks like a wonderful way to celebrate midsummer's eve.

Thank you for your kind reply. This and other replies are most helpful, they cause to give "more thought" to the next time that take such a shot. Thanks again.
