Default July Challenge - better late then never

Well, I am late again so this time I will suggest time as a subject, specifically the passage of time. Interpret it as you will but remember that it has to be representative of the passing of time.

The usual rules apply, a Pentax interchangeable lens camera must be used on an image from the last 90 days and resized to 800 pixels on the long side.

Good luck

Default Vintage Pick Up Truck

My lady's 1950 pick up processed with glorious old style color film filter and vignette. We've been restoring it for over 25 years.

Default Time passing around the world

The image of the globe rotates counterclockwise, emerging into daylight on the left and passing into darkness on the rigiht. Local time (about 11:30 PM PST in California when the picture was taken) is indicated by the yellow arrow, which also rotates counterclockwise around the chapter ring, measuring the passing of time. (Pentax Q, 5-15mm lens @15mm, cropped, diffused flash)

Default Once There Were Millions

This bison reflects the passage of time to me. Before being hunted to near extinction, the prairies were filled with herds as far as you could see. (so I've read, not that old) This is one of a small herd being used to help restore 150 acres back to natural prairie. A very noble looking guy.

Taken at Mommoth Caves in Kentucky last week on a trip to Nashville. A lot of time went into this art work!

Default Sweets are timeless

Saturday was the 3rd anniversary of the Blue Bird Bake Shop. If you wore a Blue Bird Bake Shop t-shirt -- or a top hat -- you received a free cupcake. My wife borrowed the top hat, my daughter wore it, and I recorded it.

I had something completely different in mind when I saw the topic, but it required digging through last year's photos for one of the elements, and I've been tied up with a different project so didn't find it.

Instead, I'll offer this photo, taken yesterday. I used multi-exposure setting on the camera, I think it was 4 frames (I had played around with a couple of different number frames). I thought this one was the best at capturing the idea of time passing. I used a gorillapod that was more or less wrapped around the wall of a parking structure to hold the camera (more or less) steady. A full-sized tripod is better for things like this, but the gorillapod didn't do too badly (and it was with me, unlike the Gitzo).

At first quick glance, I thought the bus read "Brain Bus," but then I looked closer and saw the colors and realized it says "Bruin Bus," as in UCLA Bruins in Westwood!

The time dimension suggests how traffic around here seems to work, a lot of people would like to be on the same spot of asphalt at the same time!
