Hans - Glad you enjoyed the dawn & sunrise shots. Guess I've always been an "early bird..."

Mole,
Love the early morning shots from Roan Mt. What is the altitude where you took those from?
I was out in Nevada in May and tried to hike up Mt. Charleston. I got to about 8,000 feet and had to turn back, I just couldn't breathe.

Jim - Highest point at Roan Mt is almost 6300 feet. Most of these photos were taken at Round Bald, which is a little over 5800 feet high. We don't have any peaks in our region anywhere near the height of your hike - the highest peak in the Appalachians is Mt Mitchell over in North Carolina, at a height of 6684 feet.

MacBook - Glad you enjoyed these. Was indeed a fascinating little fungus.
