Default What a Difference A Couple of Days Make

What a difference a couple of days make - the first picture was of a neighbor's roses on Nov. 19th (K3, DA*200):

Here's the same yard this morning. I don't think the roses like the weather change (K3, DA*50-135):

My 50-135 became decentered a while ago when it got dropped (twice). I'm not sure it's repairable and I should send it in for evaluation. The interesting thing is that it was one of the first lenses sold in SoCal and the SDM has never failed. I think it may be back-focusing a bit with the K3, not sure I'm going to bother testing it to find out. I have other lenses in that focal range, but it is SO nice to have a weather sealed zoom for days like today.

At least your snow will go away soon, the snow and cold is here to stay in Wisconsin until some time in March! Nice job with the white on the roses in both shots with detail showing everywhere.

Nice pics....roses in November...up here...at this time....only in a florist shop.

Last couple of days, I think it was -18 or so...

The rose photos were lovely....the bokeh really enhances # 1.

I'm not knowledgeable about flowers but every year I make an attempt to get some nice photos of my wife's roses in her garden. I like the layers of petals.

Tom - one of the reasons I love living here is that the snow and cold is so well-behaved. It comes around, looks lovely and then disappears before anyone gets tired of it. There's not much snow left today, none at all where I live, and only a little higher up.

Les, the DA200 is such a lovely lens. I know it isn't everyone's cup of tea, but the bokeh is always nice and it is one of the smallest/lightest f2.8 200 mm lenses. I've always been glad I bought it over one of the 70-200 f2.8 zooms.

Hans - I really want a wide angle weather sealed lens. I had bought the 16-50 when I bought the K7, but there were problems with both copies I got. I had bought 2 other lenses that were on the discount list, so ended up getting a refund. I keep thinking about the 18-135 but now that the new limited zoom is weather sealed, I'm back on the fence. I've always been somewhat afraid I would end up being disappointed with the 18-135, since I'm quite used to * and Ltd. lenses.

Not much snow in Ohio yet, just a few light flurries off and on. Definitely no Roses around.
