Default Baker Lake, -30C

Just a few pictures showing the low temperature ability of a K20D with an old silver FA 28-80mm lens.
This is how Baker Lake NU looks on a sunny Sunday afternoon at -30C.

Burrr! Beautiful, but BURRR! My boss (who comes from Ontario) sent me some Canadian humor photos. This would fit right in with a couple of them, especially the last one!

Nice, clear photos.
Of course, -30C translates into an almost pleasant -22F.

Pictures convey cold well. With all that open area, it looks like the unimpeded wind blows plenty of snow drifts into the community.

I know a lot of small, isolated communities depend on themselves for entertainment.

Is the social life like that in Baker Lake....lot's of evening and/or weekend entertainment by the local people ?

Great photos Ira. We have had several days this winter that were close to that same temperature, but I was not willing to go outside with my camera!
