Default Sunny Morning at Roan Mt

Headed up to Roan Mountain recently to catch the sunrise and to enjoy a bright sunny morning in the high country. It was indeed a find mountain sunrise!

Bright morning light sure did light up the grassy balds in their subtle winter tints.

Roan is a great place to study geology, or just enjoy the diversity of rock formations.

Any day at Roan Mountain is a good day, but this was one of the rare clear bright ones too. Hope you enjoyed the hike, and will share your comments & critique!

I meant to comment earlier about this spectacular set. I really appreciate the sunrise photos, as I am often off to work before sunrise, but do not have this kind of scenery -- or perspective.
