This friendly Black Rat Snake was out enjoying some warm spring sunshine. You can tell by his clouded eye that he is about ready to shed his skin.

And this young Cormorant was also soaking up the spring sunshine from a convenient leafless perch.

Hope you enjoyed this belated view of early spring in East Tennessee, and that you'll share your comments and critique.

Blkms- Thanks! Will have another batch of (late) photos posted soon.

MagiKat - My favorite flower lens is the Pentax FA 50 macro - very sharp even wide open, great color, and true 1:1 macro. Snake and Beetle taken with FA 100 macro - almost as sharp as the FA 50 macro, and a bit more reach. Pink Lady Slipper taken with DA 70 plus cheap close-up lens (just an experiment). And Cormorant taken with Pentax SMC 135-600.

MacBook - So glad you enjoyed the photos and the words...
