Default Recent visit to Nova Scotia.

Managed to get back home for a week to visit and do some sight seeing.

Regards

1. Cape d'Or, located on the shore of the Bay of Fundy. The name is from the early French explorers who saw what they thought was gold gleaming in the cliffs along the shore. The gold turned out to be copper.

2. Lunenburg, located on the western side of Mahone Bay. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995.

3. Many of the buildings in the town of Lunenburg are distinct in their paint/colour schemes.

4. Not far from Lunenburg is the town of Mahone Bay, famous for the three churches which sit side by side. (Anglican, Lutheran and United)

5. Blue Rocks is a small fishing village located outside of Lunenburg. The name is derived from the bluish colour of the rocky shore.

No moose sightings on this trip. We're always on the lookout though, especially when driving. Meeting one on the roadway can be a nasty experience.

Lunenburg seems to have a concentration of brightly coloured buildings. When driving along the coast there are always a few 'rainbow' coloured houses standing out amidst the grey, weatherbeaten, cedar shake ones. Thanks for viewing.

You're only a 'stone's throw' from the Bay of Fundy and Fundy National Park as well as the coast along the Northumberland Strait. There will be lots of new and great photo opportunities. Thanks for viewing and commenting.
