Default New K-3 and firmware v1.11

Adorama had a nice package with the K-3, battery grip and 50mm/1.8 lens, so I finally managed to squeeze enough out of the budget, and took the plunge, updating from my *istD. (skipped a couple generations, there, huh?)
Camera arrived with firmware version 1.11, and when I went looking for information on it, found the US site lists v1.03 as the latest. I found what I was looking for on the Japanese site, though.
In case anyone with a K-3 is interested, here is the link:http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/engli...ital/k3_s.html
It seems I am going to have to spend a good bit of time learning the ins and outs of this new one. (understatement)

Another case where Pentax USA's website is out of date (see penolta's post about the owners manual for the K-S1).

The jump to the K3 was fairly significant for me even though I had the K5 - they have evolved things and the placement of some of the buttons/ways of doing some stuff is different. I can imagine what it must be coming from the *istD!

Have fun with it, it's an awesome camera. But even after using one for a year, I still get intimidated and confused when I try to use a feature that is new to me or that I don't use much.

The user's manual isn't as helpful as I had hoped, either. Though it takes you through the settings, it doesn't do much to explain how the settings affect the image, so I am going to have to do quite a lot of experimenting. Well, the best way I have found to retain this kind of information, is to use it.
