Default Using High Speed Sync

Tried HSS for the first time today. K5iis using DA 55-300. Metz flash Af48-1.
Shutter speed of 1/5000 using flash. ISO 800. Aperture 5.6 Exposure comp +1.4 Handheld
In my backyard, Mesa, AZ

Yes, as you can tell the flash does not provide a lot of illumination when you use HSS - because the flash must fire multiple times in HSS it really cuts down on the power and distance of the output. I don't know if you can trigger HSS with the flash off-shoe or not but if you could get the flash closer to the subject it would help.

Bought my Metz flash about 4 yrs ago-it has a USB port so it can be updated. A while ago I went to the Metz site and saw the update for HSS-never knew what it was. Don't know it I will use it much but it is a nice option. IMHO Metz makes a great flash-just takes a little time to absorb the menus.
