Hi,
We have cold days in Toronto. But it is balmy compared with what you have up there. Cool images of the resilient people there. Thanks
Oh I thought my DL was a vintage camera LOL

Daniel
Only if you leave it on the shelf. I have an older TTL Pentax flash that will only work in auto mode on the DS so there is one reason to keep it in use. The other is that the old DS with the old F 50mm can be taken to parties or other places where it might be at some risk of damage, it is my "disposable" camera in that, as long as it works, I will take it anywhere. BTW I am referring to the high mileage DS, the better one is back in NB where it will be a "vintage" camera.

Glad to hear from you again Daniel, now that I am living in NB I may get a chance to see you again sometime.

The first image is a little out of focus, but so was my brain at the time. The composition was good enough for me to post it anyway.

Ok. I take back my complaining about the cold weather here in my other post. Yep, I'll take this over what you have to deal with any day. Your photos relaying the bitter, bitter cold well.

Here is a much better image of the fiddler (same combo, *istDS with F50mm f1.7 shot at ISO 1600 and f2.5):

Thanks for sharing these excellent images of such rigorous conditions - looks like your good-old camera is still working well in your talented hands!

Thanks everyone, the current cold snap may be letting up, this weeks forcast is for temperatures from -30 to -27C. This past Friday it was -37C with a windchill of -57C. That is cold.

BTW Mole I do have my K7 with me but I find the freedom from worry afforded by the DS low value makes it my first choice, and I wasn't kidding when I say I like the images from those cameras even with their low resolution and low dynamic range. I get sharp, punchy pictures from tiny RAW files that even my ancient laptop can easily digest. If someone enlists me to do any portraits or other important images I will use the K7 (also if I go on a land trip where a more rugged camera is called for) but day to day the DS and SMC-F 50mm find there way into my bookbag as I leave for work or any other place for that matter.
