Default Quick Trip to Short Springs

While traveling back from a Ranger meeting at Henry Horton State Park, took the scenic route home (shorter in miles but a bit longer in time) to visit one of our many State Natural Areas.

Tennessee is blessed with many unique natural locations that are set aside for resource protection. Short Springs State Natural Area (in Tullahoma TN) is protected because of a number of rare wildflowers, but it's best known for its waterfalls.

And here are some views of the bigger falls - Machine Falls. (Any preference among these views?)

This was my first visit to Short Springs State Natural Area, but it won't be my last. Hope you enjoyed the glimpse, and that it will tempt you to come and see for yourself!

More from the Waterfall Master, but he has outdone himself with that last shot. Truly outstanding.
