Default Polo

We attended a Polo match at the Sarasota Polo Club. The game had the club members sitting on the south side of the field (sun to their backs) with the bar and covered tables and us (the Peanut Butter and Jelly Crowd) on the north side sun into the lens. You back your car into a designated parking spot and set up chairs and tables and tailgate for the event. The game consists of 6 periods (Chukkers) of 7 min each. It was a close game and ending 14 to 12. The riders change horses every Chukker or more often if required. The spectators consume large amounts of adult beverages just like a football game and some even bet on the results.

The hard part for me was getting the ball into the image and I did with the exception of the last shot, some are hard to see. A good time for all and we will attend again next year. Pentax K30 and DAL 55-300

I find the patterns of the horses' legs in several of the photographs quite interesting. Good job in capturing the action!

Good action shots. I notice there's more bays than chestnuts and that dappled grey sure stands out.

I always thought polo would be a fun sport to try, but looking at your photos - I wouldn't be able to manage reins, mallet and a riding crop in the other hand. I'd be sure to get it all tangled up. My admiration for those who do participate went up several notches.
