Forgot to reply earlier - I run MS Office on my W7 desktop using compatibility mode, and it works just fine (so far). Also have Libre Office. I would dump the MS product, except that I created a line of photo note cards using Publisher, which I can't duplicate with anything else.

So I had enough of Precision Camera Repair-took it to a local camera repair service. Auto focus chip needs realignment. Will cost me $108.00-but will be done next week. Would take months (if ever) from Precision. Hopefully this will cure the problem-have a (6) month warranty and I know where they live.

Haha! Take no prisoners!

Good luck with the repair.

Picked up the camera yesterday-took only 8 days-instead of 2-3 months with Precision. Going to start using it today. They did a complete cleaning-adjusted the auto focus chip & returned it to factory specs. Considering this is only 6 months old and has about 2000 shutter actuations seems like it came from Pentax that way. Tech said it was so far out of focus that the user "fine" adjustment had zero chance of fixing the problem. I hope it works-really like the "feel" of the camera-quiet shutter and much faster focusing. This repair center can only do adjustments-can't get Pentax replacement parts. So if that happens we are stuck with Precision-or sell the body and get a new one.

Default Walking Inflatable Boat

Looks like the K-5iis is finally calibrated. Pentax/Ricoh should be ashamed of themselves for selling such a defective product.

Son-in-law is under the boat-dragging it to Puget Sound.
K-5iis using DA 55-300 No PP just cropping.
