Default Spring Birdies

Been much too busy with several park projects to stop by here, but wanted to share a few recent bird photos.

This Rough-Winged Swallow was kind enough to show up and pose for a recent bird walk at the home park…

Here's a Flicker in the grass - see all the soil on her beak? These woodpeckers often peck the ground for a tasty snack of ants…

Red-Winged Blackbirds have been very vocal in the park wetland areas lately…

We see Spotted Sandpipers here in East Tennessee most often in the spring. Here's one "refueling" before heading on north.

We find LOTS of Kildeer nesting here in East Tennessee. They are famous for their "broken wing" display to distract predators (or noisy photographers) away from the nest.
