Default Late Fall Birds & More

A few random late fall "critters" from the East Tennessee hills… It's a fine time to "sneak up" on some of our common birds - like this Downy Woodpecker.

Downies are here year 'round, but their cousins - Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers - are only here in the wintertime. They are also very shy, and hard (for this impatient photographer) to approach. Here are a few sample shots.

Here are two other shy birds - a cautious Belted Kingfisher and a Pied-Billed Grebe (or two) about to dive under…

Will end with a few snapshots of a 4-legged "critter." Our local White Tailed Deer population is booming, and they are very approachable!
