Wondering if anyone has an idea of why the price has skyrocketed for Pentax lenses-in some instances almost 25%
Thanks |

Do you mean new or used lenses?
After buying the K-1 I decided to abstain from buying older lenses without weather sealing, and wait for new releases according to the lens road map. But since I think the new zooms are way too big and way too expensive, and I missed a grab-and-go-lens comparable to the DA 16-45mm for APS-c, I just closed a deal for an FA 28-70mm f4, getting it for ~ USD80 (SEK 650). Not overly expensive, I think. I'll use it till there is a new, D-FA normal zoom f4. If the price tag isn't too scaring, that is! Kjell |

The full frame ones are going up because of the introduction of the K1. Sellers want to make a profit while they can. I see Pentax M and A lens that used to sell for peanuts now trying to sell for bigger bucks. Even third party lens with Pentax mount, the prices for them is rising as well.

On May 4 I bought a Pentax DFA 100 F 2.8 macro from the usual NYC source.
Paid $366.95 which I understand was a really good deal. Today's price is $496.95. It is a full frame lens but still seems exorbitant. |

I also bought one of these at a deep discounted price, even though I already owned a D FA 100 Macro as I felt that the HD coating and WR was a worthy upgrade. I also relatively recently picked up a FA 77 Ltd and a D FA 150-450 and saved hundreds of dollars from the normal pricing. Pentax, every once in a while allows some pretty deep discounting of new lenses. If you're willing to wait, and check prices regularly at B&H and Adorama, it's possible to save hundreds of dollars on the more expensive models. so it's not really a matter of price increases. It's just that they occasionally offer the discounts to allow their distributors to clear old stock. Scott |

It's not just Pentax equipment that seems to be going up, I purchased a Olympus for my Grand Daughter this spring and it went up over $150 by summer. I got a great deal new Olympus E-pl6 with kit lens for $249 but it's $399 now. ???

I am waiting for the DA lens prices to drop (wishful thinking). The only lenses I would really like now are the WR models, in particular the 18-135mm and the 55-300mm (not the stripped down version but the proper HD WR version). Those two would really round out my current collection.
