Default Bye bye 18-55, hello 16-45

I finally made a decision and gave my brother in law the 18-55mm WR lens. I had kept this lens under the premise that it is weather proof and therefore worthy of keeping, alas my copy was not. It worked fine on the 6MP cameras and even the 10MP K10D. It was "adequate" on the K20D and so-so on the K7 but really showed its dark side (or should I say bright side, considering the low contrast veiling flare it was subject to) on the newer, higher resolution cameras. The new owner doesn't take many pictures with our old K100D Super and will have no problem with it, meanwhile I took back the 16-45mm f4 (yes I now have 2) and rediscovered its goodness.

Here are a couple of test shots (no critique on the artistry and post processing, I know they are not exactly printworthy).

Looks really good! I never liked my old first-version 18-55 so I didn't try the WR version. I figured the improvements wouldn't be enough to justify getting one, especially since by the time it came out I had other choices. That 16-45 looks excellent!
