Default You Might as Well Try & Catch the Wind

Shot at Torrey Pines Gliderport in LaJolla. CA. The wind has to be just right or you end up like this. Not what you want when you step off a 200-0 cliff. Shot with K5-iis using DA 55-300

Cool shot! I've always wondered how they can manage to get one of these things to do what it is supposed to. I once watched as a number of people jumped off a cliff, after bringing their gear up a ski gondola in Teton Village. The valley was a very LONG way below!

This guy tried for about 20 minutes-then gave up-if you are ever in LaJolla this is quite a place. If the wind is right the gliders are all over the ocean.

I've been known to wander down in that direction occasionally, but I've never been to the glider port. I'll have to figure out where it is and visit next time I'm down there - is it sort-of near UCSD?

Default When the wind is right

Yes it is-not easy to find-parking lot is full of ruts & holes-think they keep it that way to keep the speed & dust down
