Default Summer Vacation

I'm still on summer vacation, I'll be getting home somewhere in September. But since I happen to have WiFi tonight (I haven't had much cell service in a while, much less WiFi), I thought I might post a couple of pictures I've taken recently.

A BIG mountain (KP):

A bear (KP, DA300, DA1.4TC) taken out the window of a bus, near that BIG mountain.

A "conductor" who sang pretty good. (KP, DFA28-105)

A lovely sunrise, no place special - Snag Junction, a provincial park near Beaver Crossing, south of Tok. (K1, had to include one taken by the K1, didn't I?)

A wild rose (I think) - KP, DA300 and DA1.4 TC

Moose Mom (KP, DA300 & DA1.4TC). I was standing on the side of a road, trying to shoot over some bushes and only did a fair job. I didn't want to try to move down closer to the pond, because Mom was very aware of us, and Dad wasn't all that far away.

I've been really impressed by the KP's performance. At higher ISOs the noise is harder to deal with than the K1, but not impossible. So far I've been very pleased with the KP - I got it specifically for this trip, to use with the DA300 and 1.4 TC, but have used it occasionally when playing the tourist and wanted a lighter camera.

As usual, some wonderful shots. That sunrise picture is wall mountable!

Thanks! I took a whole series of photos in the changing light. It was a memorable moment on a bucket list trip.

Thanks again. Whenever I get somewhere with (preferably) both WiFi and power, Iíll link to another one of the Snag Junction pictures.

Lovely and varied series there. That conductor shot caught my eye in particular, has a great atmosphere to it. Loving the mountain big time as well, never a dull sight!

The conductor picture picture was taken the first time I tried the 28-105 on the KP. I bought it with the K1 and love it, I use it most of the time. But I wanted to use something lighter, so put it on the KP. It did brilliantly, beyond what I was expecting.

I was very lucky with that big mountain, I understand 2/3 of the people who go to Denali never get to see it. We saw it on 2 different days!

G'day MtnGal

Thanks for the progress report for both you and the "K" series friends that travel with you. The pics are beaut and I'm sure that you will create a fab coffee table book of your travels once you're back on 'terra firma'
