Recently I was doing a little urban camping. It wasn't a place for picture taking, being essentially a parking lot with hookups.
But then I noticed Frankie, my next site neighbor. Who can resist a pretty face like hers?
She apparently works hard most days, chasing ravens and other birds away from a nearby landfill. Kevin, the other half of the working pair, also rehabs peregrine falcons, getting them ready to be released back into the wild. I spent a very enjoyable day talking to him and learning a bit about birds of prey and things that falconers have to consider (such as don't leave a hawk loose overnight near a campground in case someone has a small dog that they walk off-leash in the open field next to the campground).
