I have read that built-in flash Pentax*ist Ds will automatically pops-up in dimly lit or backlight.
When used external flash on hot shoe, is it require to be arranged the menu , so that is internal flash don't automatically pop-ups or that mentioned have automatically happened.
Is the pop-ups internal flash can be cancelled/not active in the menu as manually?
How using AF assist light when used external flash which do not have the facility of AF assist light in the dimly lit?
Thanks for your answer.

On the Fn menu, press down and select flash: manual. I dont have my camera on me but i think its second from the left. This is what i use anyway, because it annoys me when the flash popups up. Although even on auto flash Im pretty sure it doesnt popup when i use my external flash on the hotshoe.

you can turn the auto popup off and use manually.

you break a contact when mounting an external.

external w/no assist light you get nothing

internal can be used manually

external can be used manually
