I would like to use a large telelens (about 500mm) but the pentax tele is rather expensive. Can I use Sigma 50-500 mm F4 - 6,3 EX APO lens, or what else do you advice me???

My long lens is the Sigma 170-500mm (f5-6.3) which works very well with the DS. It even autofocuses at the long end, which it wouldn't do on my MZ5n. But unless you have a very bright day you have no chance of hand-holding, and fully extended it is awkward for handholding anyway. On a tripod or even a bean bag I find it a great lens. Here is a young Blue Tit I took with it recently.

5 or 6 metres - it was taken out the sitting room window. While I was setting up the tripod there were six of them lined up on the branch.
