I'm trying out a Tamron 28-300 3.5-6.3 lens. Stopped on the way home and took a couple of shots. Wish I'd had it this a.m.--missed a great deer shot on the way to breakfast.

Didn't do any sharpening of the images. I sharpened the second one (below). The 3rd one is the kit lens--not the tamron.

It would be nice to know the focal length and aperture settings for the first two pics. Are they cropped from a bigger image?

Picture 1: 28mm, f6.7, 1/250 sec--very slight crop to remove an item at the bottom left of the photo;

Picture 2: 50mm, f8.0, 1/350 sec--cropped to approx 3/4 of the original;

Picture 3 (with kit lens): 55mm, f5.6, 1/45 sec

The Tamron 28-300 lens is rated pretty low on this site which tests lenses and rates them from 0-5.

The Tamron 28-300 is rated at 2.6 which is pretty low, but may work for your images.
