challenge isn't the word for it. i've got a few but really nothing worth posting , mainly because of the rotten background. patience and time will tell.

How do you get them? They move way too fast for me to track, let alone track them and keep them focused

when they're on the fly or when they are roosting??
on the fly i have very few that that even i have trouble looking at. when they are roosting patience is the name of the game. a dfly will usually come back to the same roost, given time. i'll pick one and slowly work my way in letting him fly off and come back. move slow, stop, let it fly and return, move again. just took a few more a minute ago. i've also got a pond next door where they hatch from.

IN FLIGHT?? that's this years goal. a printable inflight. missed last year at least 200 times but i'm better armed this year.

Nice shot Rob. With my 200 this is as close as I could get and I was no more than 4 or 5 feet away - at the edge of the pond.

Thanks for sharing.

Sorry, I forgot to attach the pix - it is cropped.

As small boys we used to sneak up on these dragonflies while on the roost and try to catch them by the tail- good training in patience. Nice pic by the way.
