¬*The cable extension should work fine. Plug the wires into the N3 plug, some heat shrink tubing and that should do it. The site below has more info on the Plug pinout . As I mentioned in the message by not cutting the plug you do not void the warranty.¬* If I get to mod the¬* Canon TC-80N3 will document it. ¬*¬* ¬*http://www.camerahacker.com/Canon/N3_Pinout.html

Thanks for the reply and the link. That's exactly the reason I was suggesting doing the mod to the extension. I don't want to ruin the N3. If it doesn't work I guess I can always ebay it.

I just ordered the Canon RS-60E3 switch off of Ebay and was told it works. I paid $11.00 including shipping. I will let everyone know if it works.

Thanks it is good to hear I didn't waste my money. I would have gotten the IR one if the sensor was not in front of camera.
