Just arrived this afternoon--this is my grandson and my 12 year old daughter (no she's not the mother!)

So far, I think I'm really going to like this lens--autofocus is pretty fast and the images are sharp.

Rick, I have one and I love it - have gotten some very sharp and excellent images with this lens. It does indeed have a quick AF. I can't believe how light it is, after having handled some of the older Pentax glass

Can you guys say more about how great the lens is so I canjustify my LBA?

Below is one of my first images with the DA 50-200for such a small and more less inexpensive lens I could not be happier with its performance. With that and a couple other lenses I do not think that I could have an easier to carry kit for when I am back packing/camping/boating. The whole kit fits in a smallpelican case that fits in my backpack. When the new pro tele-zoom that is on the pentax road map comes out I willget it, however, this one will not leave since its size ishard to replace.
