but my electrish (electrical language) is even worse

i have no idea what those symbols mean

the safe synch sounds interesting

another thought i had was some sort of remote trigger, so the flash doesnt even need to be connected

maybe triggered by the on camera flash?
you can do that w/the onboard flash and a slave unit.

pentax was suppose to call me back mon. or tues. but haven't. i'll try calling them again..

Hi Gumnut,

that "safe-sync" is really easy to build.

Informations how to build a flash-slave are here:

http://www.heise.de/ct/ftp/projekte/tochterblitz/

It can sync on the first (pre-)flash orto the (second main-flash. The description is complete, the parts they use are standard-parts. You need the three PDF's to build it.

No electronic-freaks in you neighbourhood?? Or radio-repair?

Dang Robar,... you sure are persistant! Thanks so much on following thru with the question! Even though the reply you recieved from Pentax USA conflicts with Alfreds info (by a digit), I`m surethat my ol' Vivitar285HV will work out fine with a DS.

Has anybody here done business, via online, with Broadway Photo out of New York? I`m planning now to order a DS2, and a Sigma 18~200mm digital lense, thru them.If you have done business with Broadway, do you have any comments about the transaction? I have a Sigma 28~300 mm, and Sigma135~400 lense, for my 35mm gear and I`m pleased with both.

john,

i've seen good and bad about broadway. IMO, as i did with the DS , i got mine off of ebay. if you order directly they can give you the run-around. with ebay tho, they have their feedback comments to consider. check them out her, i haven't yet.

robar,

the pdf's contain all the diagrams and pictures you need. I tested them to today and had no problems opening them

The (german) text is not really necessary....
