I've taken a look at the Pentax UK, Japan, and USA web sites and I can't see any mention of it on any of them.

What I'd like to see is the metering moved to the function menu. I'd swap it with the flash mode, as I hardly ever change that at all. A really nice upgrade would be the ability to put whatever four functions you use most onto the function menu, and relegate the lesser used fuctions to the main menu.

Do you thinkit's a bad idea, ordoyou just think Pentax would never make that change?

Personally, I think it would make more sense to have the metering on the fn menu. It seems strange to me to have all the main shooting options grouped together on the fn menu yet have the metering tucked awaynear the bottom of the main menu.

They could leave the fn menu exactly the same as it is now, and just add an option to use the OK button to bring up metering. Two button presses instead of the five button presses needed to bring up and scroll through the main menu.

Of course, I expect there are a lot of people who think I'm talking rubbish and that the metering is in the perfect place already

i think we're not on the same page. metering to me is setting the exposure values for the shot. ie:speed, aperture
pretty simple w/the dial and button on the rt. side of the cam.

i shoot mainly Av priority, but not at the same ap.

Ah yes, my fault, I should have said metering pattern, i.e. choosing betweenmatrix, spot and centre weighted. That's what I'd like on the function menu. As you say, everything else is very nice where it is
