Great upgrade, don't leave home without it!

I used two SD cards, one with the upgrade and one that I had been using in my DS. After the upgrade, I put the original card with my photos from the older firmware and after one new photograph all is well.

I then reformatted the upgrade SD card and it too works perfectly.

Call be crazy but I also think AF is a little more responsive, and a tad better in low light. Also, whats the AF-S and AF-C options on the main menu now?

Also, we now have AUTO-ISO on the function menu, and when you put ISO warning display on the custom menu, say for 800, still doesnt warn you when it is actually shooting at iso800 from the auto mode. Oh well, cant have everything.

Just did the update, and everything worked fine!

Turned it back in, and I had robars problem - it would come on for less than a second and turn off. I fixed this by removing the firmware file from the SD card, then it seemed to boot up ok, and all is well.
Well, the readme-file actually tells you not to leave the firmware file in the camera after doing the update

Hi everyone,

Noob question: Does this update include the earlier updates as well? Thanks!

I was under the impression that this update installed new firmware, not added to the existing firmware, so it wouldn't make any difference if you were using V 1.00 1.01 or 1.02 because it is now replaced by V 2.00.

Their pagesaid it did.

Their translation is so bad question if they know what they're doing, one of my complaints w/ the OM.

Re-read this baby carefully, from their update site:

For prevent the confusion, the item that was not able to be set by the menu, made a gray character

If, for example, you select RAW in the menu, then the menu item that allows you to select the image size is grayed/dimmed, and not selectable, as you can only have the 6M with RAW.

The update is now on the US site, complete with "real" English descriptions and instructions.

Another tip is to dl the manual for the Ds2, as our cameras are now closer to it in function. This manual is also a better translation to English.
