Hi folks;

With the Boxing day sales on soon, I can get another 512MB card or a 1GB card. Both are very well priced. I have a 512MB card already.

What to do??

Thanks, Rich

I have two 1GByte cards and on some days I have managed to fill both, even shooting 6M jpegs.

So I would say go the bigger card.

How much are the 2GByte cards? I would even consider some of those.

I use mostly 512 SD cards because when I am out shooting I can quickly dump the entire card to a CD on my laptop and then after format continue using the card.

With a larger card, I have to sort through the images before saving to a CD because the card holds more than a CD does.

That said, I do have two 1 gig cards.

Hi Rich,

just check the price / MB and take the card with best conditions...

Now the 1GB-card should be best buy.

They make less expensive cards, but I have no experience using one. I think Staples sells them in the US!

There is a PNY 1GB card on sale Boxing Day for $69 Canadian. That would be about $60US.

rich,
i use a couple pny 256 cards as backup. they work just fine. if you shoot raw don't expect them to write real fast.

I recently got a 2 gig card which fits the camera, but after 1 gig is used, it says "image not saved" or something like that. The card will store two gigs on my computer, but the camera doesnt' seem to be able to do it.

Anyone have any idea why? Just a basic limitation of the camera?

If it's the DS:

Update your firmware! "Old" versions (1 &1.01) support cards up to 1 GB
