Rechargeable CR-V3's are specifically warned against in the DS2 manula and I am willing to bet if the camera needs warranty it would cause an issue.

Hey Tony!

I bought 3 sets of Energizer rechareable batteries, AND I also found some lithium AA energizers at a great price good until 2007 that I put in my pack just in case!

You folks are awesome.

I ran this all by the boss -er, my girlfriend -and bought the Nawa C204W charger through Thoma Dist. I bought 8 Energizer 2500's last night, and the charger + 4 more Energizers this morning, so I think she'll be all set for a while. We're hoping to travel to Europe some time this year, so I felt the C204W was the best bet for her. Too bad this thing doesn't do a 15 minute charge, but for our needs 2 hours is good enough, and the extra features on this charger are really impressive.

Thanks again for all of the excellent info. It's been a great help!

Tony

Maha MH-C204W

get a case for each set so you keep them together. what i do is store my chared ones with the polarity all the same in the case. if i have to change out a set that needs charging i'll put those in the case with the polarity reversed for each battery,

ie: charged, all baterries would be in the case with the + end all facing the same way...++++
discharged would be one , one way , the next pointing the other,, +-+-
that way it's easy to tell them apart..

i always carry a set of crv-3s with me just in case.. at least since i need them..

Thanks, Robar - Excellent idea! I'll pass that on to my girlfriend.

To be perfectly honest two sets of batteries and a back up set of normal AA should suffice with a normal charger. Unless you plan on reviewing every shot you take the batteries will last days before they need recharging.

You can always have one set on charge in the afternooon and change them over and put the other oneson charge for a top up when you go to bed and in the morning you are set again with two set of fully charged batteries, and you still have the normal AA as back up.

Just remember NiMh are non-memory batteries, you don't have to fully discharge them to recharge them, so it they are half flat, top them up...:-)
