Thought I'd share the fun I'm having with my 24-year old SMCP-M 75-150mm F4.0 zoom on my DS2.

This is my son playing basketball, with the lens wide open, metering in Av mode, ISO 3200, 1/100 sec. (and frantically trying to keep up with him with manual focussing), and heavily cropped (about 1/3 the original frame)

Nothing wrong with the old glass, or the high ISO performance...

That's good!

And how'd you get 3200 to look that smooth?

Well, I used a Pentax, that's how!

I really don't have to do much to my high-ISO shots, at least forsnapshot prints and web posting. Sometimes I'll do some color noise reduction in PS Elements but I don't remember if I did that to this shot. Resizing to post here probably helped, too. I'll try to post a 100% crop soon so you can see.

Thanks for the compliment!

Here's the 100% crop I promised...the top one is straight from the camera. (I shot it, BTW, in JPG ***, Saturation 0, Sharpness +1, Contrast 0, Image Tone Natural, Daylight WB.) The bottom one is from the whole picture posted above. I sharpened it, but it looks like I didn't do any color noise reduction after all.

I checked my EXIF just to be sure, and yes, it really is ISO 3200!
