After going through many cheap lens from Ebay, have settled down with two of the cheapest I got. An old Sigma manual 75-300, and an old Vivitar 135 2.8

Here's one with the Sigma 75-300 w/2X converter, shot from the window of my truck. I should have used a tripod, far too much glass for handheld.

Of all of my lenses (a very modest set) the only decent moon shots I have achieved was with an old Rikenon K-mount 135mm f2.8 that I got on ebay for $40 (in like new condition) and an old Takumar-A 2x teleconverter I bought new back in 1985.

Critical focus can be difficult (with no focus aid but the silly light) but these old fast lenses can produce excellent results.

Nice images, especially when circumstances are taken into account.

I have an old 85 1.8 Super Multi-coated Takumar, that I use more than all the other lenses combined. I do a lot of low-light and indoor stuf, and nothing seems to come close to it.

I have a collector friend who gets pretty upset with me for using up one of those, but equipment was made to use.
