sigma 18-125mm is that a good lens?

I have used the Canon version, nice range but only average image quality. Makes a nice "touring" lens for when you don't want to carry a lot of equipment.

It is very good up to, perhaps, 100 mm, a bit soft beyond that. Best to stop it down a bit, as with any other lens.

It is a good walk around lens, light and versatile, but don't expect super sharp images from this lens.

They're good but not great. I didn't realise until I got a nice fast prime lens (24mm f1.7 ) and realised how sharp the images on the Pentax can be.
