Just got it the last weekend brand new from B&H and took this one at City Hall Pict of Manhattan.
Drove for 9 hours back to Toronto.
Looks like it is worth it.

Roy, I agree, I also enjoy my SMCP-M 28mm f2.8 on my DS2, but it feels strange having to think of it as a "normal-ish" lens...

I got my FA 28 just because I like it is having a 43mm equivalent film focal when it is put on my *ist D and DS. Well, it is really a normal lens to me. Also, according to Pentax's theory, 43mm, which is the diagonal width of the 36 x 24mm, should be the true normal lens. :-)

The FA 28 is not particular sharp, especially near wide opened and at the image corners, though, even it is used on the cropped 1.5X *ist Ds. It is very good for its money, nevetheless. As a comparison, my 43 produces crisper and more saturated image on my DS.

Should you compare that with 31 limited instead of 43mm?
43mm is almost like telezoom with dslr (64mm film equivalent).

Daniel, a little confusion here, I think RiceHigh meant that the 28mm acts like a 43mm because if the 1.5X crop factor. The 31mm Limited would make an ideal "normal" lens with the Pentax digitals since it would work out to about 46.5mm in 35mm equivalent.
