In the last 6 days I have bought some new lenses.

Tamron 80-250mm f3.8 M42 (genuine Pentax adaptor to arrives tomorrow)
SMC Pentax 50mm f1.7 (damn smooth - looks new)
SMC Pentax 55mm f1.8 (damn smooth - looks new)
Vivitar 2x tele-converter

Today
New Sigma EX 28-70 F2.8 (off ebay, I think I found my new walk about lens)
RMC Tokina 80-200 F4.5 (This is an old lens that looks like it has been a on camera 5 times in its entire life, has a one touch zoom/focus), not a scratch or mark ($50Aus)

I am not sure whether to ask for help or run around bragging at how cheap some of these lenses were. :blah:

I saw a 30-80mm Pentax AF at the local pawn broker today for $80Aus ($67US) is that a good price?

Well, I would say this is an early stage of the LBA, as the syptom is obvious, i.e. buy many lenses in very short time, and things would go worse further if it is not stopped! ;-)

BTW, I like your 55/1.8 lens most amongst your new lenses listed, as it is just like a 85/1.8 lens when it is mounted on the Pentax DSLRs. It's ideal for portraits. Sometimes, I found my 43 Limited a bit short when mounted on my *ist D and DS and the FA 85 is just a bit long sometimes.

Want to start a chapter of LBAA (lens buying addicts anonymous). Every day I resist the urge to ebay. I have convinced myself that the only thing I need now is an M42 to K-mount adapter (but think of the possibilities that would hold:evil.

A Zen Mantra may help!! Any suggestions?

Oh go ahead and get the geniune Pentax M42 to k-mount adapter. It will be one of the best decisions a Pentax dSLR owner will make. Then when you start using the older wonderful glass (Pentax Super Takumar, Carl Zeiss Jena, Schneider-Kruznach, etc.) you begin to appreciate your Pentax even more. You can put the best optics in the world on this camera. What other camera brand can boast that?....and at less cost.

There is a PentaxM42 adapter at Henry's for $25Cdn that I will probably order. Right now I have a Tamron 200mm f3.5 lens and an old Chinon 50mm f1.4 but no other screw mount lenses, I would like to get some of those SMC Takumars though.

I actually only paid $15AUS (12US) for that 55mm/f1.8 at a camera market over the week end, lovely little lens.

Now I just need to get that Bigma 50-500mm APO DG next month and I should be satisfied for a while.

I am in the process of reversing my LBA:
-Sold, my working K1000 with Takumar-A 28-80mm f3.5-4.5 and Sigma AF UC 70-210mm to a student. I know she will enjoy it.
-Gave my youngest son the MZ-7 with a Sigma AF 28-70mm f3.5-4.5 and the Takumar-F 70-200mm.
-Gave my Minolta Maxxum 7000 with 19-35mm Cosina, 35-70mm f4 Maxxum, and 70-210mm f4 Maxxum (crossed X model) with the AF2800 flash to my oldest son.
-Gave my wife the Fuji S7000
-Packed away a Maxxum 5000 with AF4000 flash and 50mm
-Put the broken K1000 and 28mm on display. Still have an old screw mount Tamron 200mm f3.5 I may put to use some day.

My Lowepro Nova 5 now holds:
My flash kit -
-old Vivitar 285 flash with remote sensor
-Stroboframe flash bracket
My old lenses -
-Samyang 500mm f8mirror lens (just for fun)
-Samyang MF 80-200mm f4 macro zoom (not sure what will become of this one, it is faster than my AF zoom)
My only "fast" telephoto -
-Rikenon 135mm f2.8
My "spare" film backup -
-KX film body

My Lowepro Minitrekker backpack contains:
-my DL
-DA 18-55mm
-FA 28-80mm
-FA 100-300mm
-M 50mm f1.7 with Cokin holder and shades
-Rikenon 28mm f2.8 with Cokin holder and shade (only non-Pentax glass in this bag)
-Takumar-A 2X teleconverter
-numerous filters.

I think I have successfully licked LBA for a while since the only way to move up now is with much more expensive lenses than I can afford (no FA* or Limiteds in my immediate future). If I buy again soon it will be cheap but interesting lenses.

Hope I don't dislocate my shoulder patting myself on the back. BTW, Tom (ennacac) if you are reading this please do not list your lenses, drool on the keyboard makes it sticky and shorts out the keys.
