This is how farit hascome. The flowers grow under the pear tree (the biggie in front) and the leaf lay, obviously, out on the snow-covered lawn.

I am not posting any more pictures of my back yard until I can see a colour other than white out there.

Neat photos! Looks like a trip to the Botanical Gardens at lunch time for me - maybe there will be something blooming that speaks of spring. They are saying that this year won't be very good for wildflowers, and those that do bloom will be late coming up (sigh).

Bily - I like both the snow pic and the flower. Looks like you are going to have a lot of fun with the macro lens. Wow, is it sharp. I definately want to see some more flower pics with it. Our wildflowers here should be coming on strong during the next month- Bruce

Never provoke a lunie! I just had to try something - but we had another backlash with new snow in the night soI had to go for a tame pot flower, caught in a monastery in MedellĂ*n, Colombia and tamed by myself. The plant gets 8-10 buds a year, they only blossom for one day and today there were four of them! From this picture you discover two things

- Kjell would need a course led by Robar on how to use a flash properly (I used two, bumped one in the ceiling and another in the glass door of a nearby cupboard)

- the 100 mm macro lens is sharp and has good resolution. I couldn't stop it down though - is it because I used external flashes or what? - so the DOF is quite shallow.

First the uncropped picture:

And then a detail, cropped and resized (have in mind that this is a compressed jpeg):
