OK, I found out about the problem of not being able to stop down. I had forgotten to put the wheel on "M"-mode. :idea:But if I had, what had happened to exposure using TTL external flash?

Here are some flower pics I've taken over the last several weekends in NC, where winter hasn't existed the past 2 years.

some of these, i could play around with the crop more. Still getting the hang of framing the picture right and producing a sharp image.

I had a blast at the Botanical gardens today, and found all kinds of flowers. There might not be many wildflowers blooming in the wild, but there are some nice ones blooming at the gardens.

The bright orange poppy is the state flower for California. This photo may not look quite as good as it does in photoshop - I found when I tried to post a sunrise that orange doesn't seem to compress well. But it will give anyone who hasn't seen one an idea of how spectacular they can be.

Poppies aren't huge flowers and often grow in fields. Imagine a hillside blanketed with these - that's what it can be like in a good year (not this year, sigh).

Looks like you are going to have a lot of fun with the macro lens. Wow, is it sharp. I definately want to see some more flower pics with it.
OK, so here we go with a South African species blooming in my kitchen window right now, Tritonia distichta.
