Hi, On the 16-45 - I have had this lens going on over 3 years and I really like it. On the K100, I will admit that at times it appeared that the kit lens was its equal. However on the K20 with the higher resolution, there is no question about its superior image quality.

I do not have the 16-50, however at f2.8 its larger and heavier. I shoot landscapes, so I really do not have a need, thus the 16-45 is great. I have a feeling that is one of the deciding factors.

Can't believe I've never posted to this thread. Oh well, no time like the present. This is from memory and I don't have a comprehensive picture (maybe that will be my photo of the day sometime soon).

  • Dyantran AT-6703 tripod and ballhead
  • Dyantran AT-A105T carbon fiber tripod legs

  • Crumpler $2Million Home (for the E-P1)
  • Naneu Pro sling bag
  • Case Logic dSLR/computer backpack
  • Adorama Joe Farace reporter backpack

I guess that's it for now.

I sure agree with you about how much fun having toys are, but don't agree about your ability to take a good picture.

I was thinking the other day about how much I've spent on my hobby in the last 5 years. It's daunting to me, but looking at your list mine is a drop in the bucket of yours.

Thanks Harriet, and I know I'm OK but there are shooters here who have a much better eye than I (made myself laugh at writing that part), and could make better use of the kit.

I've spend a fair amount on this hobby, but that's the advantage of being a single man.......... hmmm, less than 4 months to go until that changes though LOL.

Guess I've never posted my stuff. So, here goes.

Cameras:
Pentax K100D
Pentax K20D
Pentax PZ-1
Canon EOS300

Lenses:
Pentax DA 18-55
Pentax DA 50-200
Pentax FA 50 1.4
Sigma 28-80 Aspherical Macro
Tamron 70-300 Di LD Macro Zoom
Tamron 18-250 Di-II LD Aspherical (IF) Macro Zoom
MC Zenitar-K 16mm/2.8 fisheye - my newest toy
Canon 28-90mm

Other:
Vivitar 2X-22 Tele Converter - recent purchase I'm still learning how to use
Pentax AF 360 FGZ Flash
numerous filters
Pentax Remote Control F
Manfrotto 055XB tripod
Manfrotto 322RC2 joystick tripod head
Monopod - cheapo Walmart purchase, but works great
Gorillapod SLR knock-off that recently discovered isn't great

Bags:
Lowepro Sling 100
Think Tank Urban Disguise 30
Lowepro Fastpak 250
Pentax lens bag

That's all I can think of right now. I've been watching for a Vivitar Series 1 105/2.8 or the Kiron match but keep getting out bid. Guess I'm not willing to pay the going price right now. Also, watching for Sunpak Auto 383 flash. It swivels and my Pentax one doesn't. Not that it will improve my photos, but I can dream.
