I took off this morning to go play with my new DL at the beach. Wind was blowing around 30 mph and it was COLD.

Anyway I really like this camera and think it has to be the best value on the market. All pic's are with the kit lens and auto program. (too cold to waste time thinking) Basically point and shoot.

The photo's are of the inlet jetty in Ocean City Maryland.

Hand held and ISO of 800.

I thought they looked a little "grainy" and then I remembered that I was messing with different settings the night before and forgot to change the iso .

I guess the 1/3000 sec shutter speed should have tipped me off:lol:

Hey, BamaLouie, I was at a beach this morning, too! My family and I were camping on Jekyll Island, on the Georgia coast. It was breezy and chilly for us, too, though surely not as cold as Ocean City. This is sunrise over the Atlantic, at Jekyll Island's Driftwood Beach. (DS2 with kit lens.) A nice light show to start our Palm Sunday...

BTW, I like your photos, especially the seagull -- well done!

Dan

Love the photos - got me thinking about going to the ocean when I'm heading for the mountains this week.

I originally got Neat Image to help with the FZ30 noise and really like it. The FZ30 was sold after a month of frustration, but I'll still occasionally use Neat Image. The free trial version strips the EXIF data from the file, while the version you pay for does not. I ended up buying the pro version because I wanted to use it as a plug-in for Photoshop (it can work as a stand-alone program also).

Hey, Dan

Great Pic! Very good composition. Looks like a wonderful place to spend time with the family.

I need to go back to the beach soon and do it right before the mass hordes arrive for summer. Population increases by two tothree hundred thousand after Memorial day.
