works for me.. he was looking a bit ragged.. the original size gives a lot more detail.

Roy,

Excellent pictures...you seem to have a eye for good composition! I find that heading to the zoo in the early AM hours (usually at opening time) is great for photographing. The morning sunlight is gentle, the animals are usually active, it is typically feeding time, and most of all, the zoo is almost never crowded. All make for a good formula for taking pictures.

jay,
the morn is usually when we go. today was a spur of the moment decision in the afternoon.
the zoos here don't open till 10am so EARly morn is pretty much out of the question.
