did you notice the difference in th f4 and f5.6 shot. the lone spider web?? 1 stop difference..

It's easy to understand why the lens get so high ratings. I'll try to find something similar to shoot with my F 70–210 4-5.6 to see how near it comes. I've got little doubt, though, that the A version will win that competition.

this has got to be brand new. i've looked for for any sign of wear and find not a spot or blemish on it. i was wrong about close focus. there's a macro mode at 70mm, close focus is <1' giving about 1:4 macro..

liking this more and more. only down side is that it's a tank and weighs it. got to be close to 2lbs. or just under a kilo..

did an aperture sharpness test on this today. here's the results. all at 210mm and handheld f4,5.6,8,11
i've got a 80-200 f4.5 on the way. read somewhere it might be sharper. when i get it i'll compare the 2 and decide which one to sell. i'll do it w/tripod tho.
