they seem a little soft rick. i've never had much luck w/converters on zoom lenses. also i saw in the exif info not one of those was shot at 200mm, which to me is defeating the purpose of the extender..

let me run out and shoot a few with my 70-210 and a tokina 2x.. and i'll post. somewhere i read this lense will do well with a 2x.

I was shooting at less than 200mm on purpose. The last time I used this combo and shot at the full 200mm, the pictures were very soft.

i just did a sharpness comparison 70-210 f4vs M400 f4 with and without a 2x conv. i'll post it later but the bottom line is that the 70-210 kicks the prime in the teeth. but with the 2x the M400 takes the prize. i wonder now what the 80-200 f4.5 is going to deliver. guess i'll find out friday..
