FA100mm with built in flash .
I did not imagine that it was so hard for my poor eyesight to focus for flying stuff.

i dont know about where you are at but these greenies are pretty skittish aroung here..

roy,

I did - let me count it - around 20 to produce a good one. Had to do manual focus which is really difficult for my retirement age eye sight. In the other forum, I keep seeing a lot of photos with flyies and all kind of bugs actually caught in the act of mating. I have no clue how any photographer can keep getting great results like that.
I am located in Toronto. Somehow I find the bugs in here less mobile. Definitely in tropical locale, flies can hardly be nailed for a portrait.
