I spoke to my Pentax repairer today and I asked him about the chips in the Pentax *ist digitals. He has changed the sensors on a few cameras and they have ALL been Phillips CCD sensors which is interesting considering they are supposed ot be Sony.

He is of the opinion the new K100 with the Shake Reduction will be using the 10mp sensor and will provide a 6mp SR image with the rest of the chip (4mp) being used in the SR oscilation technology.

Lastly, a bit of gossip. Nikon are going to ask Sigma to help them with a new camera. (shock horror you say):?

Sigma is OWNED by Pentax (didn't you know), therefore Nikon is going to actually be asking Pentax to help them with a new camera......
