Has anyone heard who is making the sensor, a lot of gossip says it is the same one as the D200 made by Sony.

I have heard different and that it won't be made by Sony but another company.

I have heard that K10D sensor is the same of D200 and the K110 e K100 is the same of DL. I would like to see a update of sensor in k100d series, something like the Nikon D50 sensor...

The Pentax *istDS/DL/D/DL2/DS2 (as well as the Nikon D100 and D70 and the K-M 7D and 5D) all use the same Sony sensor as the D50 I believe!? Unless there was a change there that I missed. If anyone knows otherwise please let me know.

I believe the *ist line has the same sensor of Nikon D70 (not the d70s), KM5D has the same of D50. What I really want to know is if the K110d e K100D will use a diferent sensor of the *ist line.

I noted that it has Swedish as one of the menu languages. That is good news to all - it means that it will be marketed in Sweden (and perhaps Minnesota?). So Pentax is not giving up Europe to Samsung. Moresold items= more new lenses and bodies. Pheeeewwwww:crazy:.

K100D and K110D will use the same 6MP sensor which is used in DL/DL2/DS/DS2/D

Well now to put the cat among the pigeons. My source, who was spot on about the infomration release earlier this year opn the new camera AND the Shake Reduction and how it would work says it will NOT be a SONY sensor.

For some reason he is saying Phillips is the makerof the sensor and NOT Sony. Not saying he is right but ...we will wait and see. aranoid:

I hope not since the early Phillips sensors were extremely noisy at high ISO. If they did switch sensors, I would expect a Samsung sensor since they are partners.

I guess the "improved results" are not from a better sensor going by that wording.
